Senior Cybersecurity Engineer
Location: FL/MD/Remote
We are seeking to hire a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer for the roles of Information System Security Officer/Information System Security Engineer (ISSO/ISSE) and Navy Qualified Validator (NQV) to support our customer at Cecil Field, Jacksonville, FL. The selected applicant will perform a variety of cybersecurity and Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities, including but not limited to:
- Direct, plan and design security solutions that enable the organization to identify, protect, detect, respond, and recover from cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
- Assists in the development of the organization’s strategic vision for cyber security architecture and establishes priorities and strategies consistent with the program’s goals.
- Develop, implement, and enforce information systems security policies ensuring system security requirements are addressed during all phases of the Information System (IS) lifecycle.
- Responsible for RMF package development and continuous monitoring activities (RMF Steps 1-6). Maintain eMASS records and associated documentation for system authorizations (i.e., ATO, IATT, MFR).
- Perform ongoing risk assessments, analysis and evaluation to design, implement, test and field secure systems, networks, and architectures.
- Develop, implement, and enforce information systems security policies ensuring system security requirements are addressed during all phases of the Information System (IS) lifecycle.
- Manage certification and testing in accordance with the DoD and DON Risk Management Framework (RMF) and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) policies; identify deficiencies and provide recommendations of risk mitigation to the customer.
- Verify compliance with DoD and DON implementation of IT and cybersecurity-related policies, standards and procedures.
- Review and conduct ACAS vulnerability scans in accordance with DoD and DON guidelines. Complete Evaluate STIG scans and maintain STIG checklists on a quarterly basis. Ensure that the security posture of the systems is maintained on a continuous basis.
- Report to senior leadership and ISSM on cybersecurity efforts.
- Provide Navy Qualified Validator (NQV) support to assess and validate the effectiveness of security controls within IT systems, networks and platforms to ensure they meet Navy requirements.
Requirements
- A master’s degree in Information Technology or a related field and a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience are required.
- The applicant must meet the certification and clearance requirements established IAW the DoD Manual 8570.01.
- The applicant must have a DoD IAM Level III Certificate (CISSP or equivalent).
- An active DoD Secret clearance is required to start.
- The applicant may be subjected to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- NQV certification is required, and applicant must be registered in the NAVWAR List of Approved Validators.
- ACAS certification is required.
- The candidate will be expected to perform all functional duties independently and report directly to senior leadership.
This position offers a salary range of $125,000 – $180,000 annually, depending on experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance; life, AD&D and disability insurance, paid time off; 401k participation; and other benefits.
